Our History

Since 1875, First Congregational Church has had a continuous presence in Fremont, Michigan. All the memories, lessons and achievements of the past give us a firm foundation for our future.

Our first church building was located on the corner of North Division and East Dayton streets in Fremont.  In 1911, the second one was built at the corner of North Merchant and East Dayton streets.  Our third and present location on Hillcrest Avenue was constructed in 1961.

Each generation of our church continues to encourage a strong sense of purpose and dedication to offering everyone a welcoming house of worship. Reimagining and making adjustments for the future is a hallmark of our tradition.  We are blessed that God continues to provide “good and faithful servants” to minister to our community.
