Your First Visit - What to Expect

Welcome to our church! We hope that you enjoy worshipping with us.

Sunday worship service starts at 10:00 am and concludes about 11:00 am.

We dress casually. Wear what you'd wear to school or work.

We use the side door under the portico located halfway up the south drive way as our main entrance. You may pause your car under the portico as you drive into the parking lot to let your passengers off. It is a barrier free entrance. Use any open parking space in our lot. There are some close-in spaces reserved for handicapped parking.

At the entrance, there will be a greeter wearing a name tag and a welcome table. The greeter will be happy to help you with any questions to make you comfortable with your visit. In the sanctuary, ushers wearing name tags will escort you to your seat and hand you a bulletin.

Our church is facilitated for disabilities requiring the use of walkers, wheel chairs, crutches, canes, etc. There is an elevator in the lobby which will take you to the sanctuary level. There are spaces for wheelchairs available in the sanctuary. For those with impaired hearing, the sanctuary is looped for Telecoil equipped assistive hearing devices.

Please bring your children to church. Children are welcome in the sanctuary for the entire service or they may prefer to go to Sunday school which runs concurrently with the Sunday worship service. To join in with Sunday school, children should stay with their families at the beginning of the service. About ten minutes into the service, we have a special time of learning and devotion called the Story Bell. The children of all ages are invited at this time to go to the stairs leading to the altar to listen to the story. After the Story Bell, the children will be dismissed to the care of a Sunday School teacher. There is a family/cry room on the upper level and a nursery on the lower level, either of which you are free to use at any time.

There is no public introduction of visitors nor a hand-shaking time during worship.

Communion is held on the first Sunday of the month and is served to attendees while in their pew seats. Communion is open to everyone.

Offering plates are passed during the Sunday service but there is no obligation to contribute. Our church is funded by donations from friends and members.

There is a welcome brochure containing a brief description of our covenant, welcome statement, beliefs and ministries in the pew racks. Please take one home if you wish.

We would love to say hi to you after the Sunday service. Please join us immediately after for coffee and cookies in Fellowship Hall on the lower level of our church. It is a very casual and very enjoyable few minutes.

We will be very happy to see you at the First Congregational Church of Fremont and we hope that you will decide to visit again.
